How the small things are really the big things
And to interpret this stanza from Blake's Auguries of Innocence into their own visual language of the enormous tiny.
“To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.”
The result is a collective meditation on the power and the magnitude of the simple and the small, and also on film itself and the phenominal potential of the media and the material (the roll or canister or pack, shot and unshot) to contain worlds: to hold infinity. Footsteps in the sand lead us in, and then lead us out.
